My Name is Teresa James, everyone calls me "Terry", and I am the mayor of Village of Blacks Harbour. Our village, which is "home of the world's largest Sardine Industry" was incorporated in 1972. I am the fourth mayor of our community, as well as the first female mayor.

There are many wonderful activities you can do while visiting Blacks Harbour. We have whale watching tours, different dining choices, gift shops, or perhaps you would enjoy a walk around our rugged coastline.

We have several parks and playground for you and your family to enjoy.  Our tourist bureau is located directly behind the Silverking Restaurant located on Main Street. While there, why not take a peek through Cricket Cove, a very unique shop filled with various woollens and handmade items. Connors Brothers Limited has a retail outlet inside the Fresh Mart Grocery Store, located on Main Street, to satisfy your seafood request or to sample the world famous "Brunswick" sardines. The Village of Blacks Harbour is the mainland gateway to Grand Manan Island, with a ferry service leaving Wallace Cove terminal on a daily basis. While waiting for the ferry, you can drop in to the gift and snack shop in Wallace Cove, or you can stroll down to Pea Point Lighthouse and have a picnic.

If you care to spend an extra day or two here, we have two lovely bed and breakfast establishments in the village. Why not discover what a hidden jewel our quaint, little fishing village is the next time your in our area?

I encourage your to explore our website to learn more about the Village of Blacks Harbour. If you wish to contact me, you can do so by emailing me at mayortjames@nb.aibn.com or simply by phoning my direct line at 506-456-4896. I look forward to seeing you soon!
